The capital of New Zeland, Wellington, was situated at a beautiful harbour on Sonth extremity of the North island. From rests of New Zeland a city differs that here is very changeable weather, and in winter often winds blow piercing.
But in spite of it Wellington is a city of culture and art, and in addition, there are many excellent restaurants of folk cuisine. In this town also there is a government of country and treasury. The most interesting buildings in town are: building of Parliament in modern architectural style, old building of Government (one of the greatest wooden buildings in the world), National library (the most enormous national collection of books takes place in which), and mansion of Catherine Mensfild (house, where a famous authoress was born in 1888).
Wish to see all this with your own eyes? Then make out the visa, for this purpose there are agencies rendering visa services. And welcome!
In Wellington there are also many museums (including a new museum Te Papa and Museum of plants) and zoo, and examining a city is possible from the top of mountain Victoria, where a magnificent view is opened from. The most notable places of city is: Cuba Street, where many shops are located on; a Lambton Street is a business center of city; district of Torndon, with by a great number historical monuments; a mountain Victoria, where many cheap hotels and cafes.
Okland
The pulse of life is felt in this off-shore town, and the refulgency of sea is reflected in its eyes. Its location on the thin strip of the North island is very interestingly, because there is the impression, that a city is from every quarter surrounded of water. All tourist sights of Okland related to the sea in any case. When you will examine all aquariums and will study history of the wind-driven sport, can familiarize with the culture of maori, skeletons of dinosaurs, or watch after stars in an observatory.
Passage-Way Boll
Being on height of 2121 meter Passage-way Boll is a two-three-day route of mountain Kuk in the National park on an island South. He passes on snow slopes opposite the mountain Kuk. But this walk is recommended only for professionals which are able to use ice-axes, by alpinist hooks and well oriented on locality.
Great Barrier Island
Along the east coast of this island at depth of Khauraki Gulf there are many snow-white sandy beachs, and along the bank of the west there are many little eyots, half covered water. There are many pedestrian paths on 80000 hectares of this island. Natural thermal springs, majestic forests of trees of kauris and surprisingly quiet atmosphere create this place ideal for walks. It is possible to reach here on an airplane or ferry from Okland, located in a 88 km to the south.
Harihari
Harihari is a small town on the bank of the west of island Sonth, the name of which got on the top pages of newspapers in 1931, when Menzis Guy accomplished single non-stop flight through Tasman sea from Australia. Flight passed without problems, but an airplane made a forced touch-down on a bog, and Menzes was catapulted straight in dirt. In a small town people arrive usually to walk on a coast, to watch after birds and to fish.
Steward Island.
Third on a size island of New Zeland is Steward Island, – a paradise for an ornithologist, as here are thujas, parakeets, parrots kaka. Kiwis, rarely meetings on islands of North and South, freely feel on this island. In north part of island there are many good pedestrian paths and cabins for a temporal stop, while South part of island is practically isolated from other territory and practically undeveloped. Locals (them only 400 persons) are hardy, taciturn and suspiciously behave to the visitors. A weather is here changeable, and the terms of residence are most primitive.
